How it All Started
Starting off as a grassroots movement in 2011, a few friends came together to host a toy drive now known as Santa’s Little All-Stars. The goal was simple – teach and engage the younger generation about social responsibility and provide holiday cheer to children who could really use something to smile about. The support and response the event received was incredible. We partnered with local children’s hospitals, foster homes, and orphanages and we were able to reach over 100 children in our first year. Due to the overwhelming support and interest, we knew then that Santa’s Little All-Stars would become an annual event we would host.
Over the past 6 years, Santa’s Little All Stars has evolved into an engaging, fun-filled experience for children, their families, our volunteers and us with everyone coming together to teach and learn the importance of compassion towards others.
As the event grew, we realized the growing impact and reach it had across all generations, which seems increasingly important in the forever changing and unsettled world around us. We realized then that our Santa’s Little All-Stars dream could have a path that would help us make a greater impact on this world’s social canvas. We want to continue to expand the work we have started on an even larger scale by delivering diverse volunteer opportunities that will spark participation of people across all generations.
Our hope is to serve as a catalyst for people to do what is already in their hearts. The inception of the charity, Unity SME, is the catalyst with which we hope to succeed in our dreams.

Sapana Patel
Co-Founder/ Executive Director
MSN, APRN-BC
Inspiration: I wanted to create a world where our children learned the importance of social responsibility in a fun, engaging way.
Motivation: As executive director, Sapana is responsible for the vision, strategy and national fundraising efforts for the organization as it continues to grow nationally.
The organization’s foundation was built on the success of Santa’s Little Allstars Toy Drive, an innovative idea that came to her when her oldest son, T.J. was only 6 months old. Feeling the need to teach him the importance of social responsibility, she collaborated with Ekata and Meeta to create this unique toy drive that has raised over 5,000 gifts and donated to charities across the nation.
Receiving a Master’s Degree in Nursing from New York University, her compassion towards helping others is evident in her role as a nurse practitioner, as a mother, a teacher and as the Executive Director of UNITY SME.

My Story: Meeta has a BS in Finance from Rutgers University School of Business. After working in a corporate setting for years, she realized her heart was in education. She successfully pursued a career in Public Charter School Administration. After many years of service she decided to embark upon her long time dream of owning her own business. Meeta now owns and operates two Academies of Early Education, The Learning Experience of Woodbridge & Sayreville. It is here that she knows she belongs, as it allows her the opportunity to shape young lives in a way that will bring positive, sustainable change to this world.

Ekata Doshi
Co-Founder
CFO
Inspiration: I'm inspired by those who stand up for what they believe is right and are a voice for others. Those who try to make a positive difference in other people's lives.
Motivation: "Could we have done more?" is something we’ll always question, but reducing that wonder is my motivation. It applies to all aspects of my life - family, friends, socially, work, social consciousness, and responsibility.
Leaving a footprint of compassion, empathy, and love. Hoping to make the smallest of difference is someone's life who could use another voice and an impact that outreaches me and outlasts me. All to help ensure I wonder just a little less if we could have done more.
Hero: Someone who didn't accept what was put in front of them. Someone whose fought against odds and stood up for themselves and others.
She currently serves as CFO to Process Stream, a quality systems software, and consulting company.

Inspiration: People inspire me - All the time. When I see something good, or bad. It makes me strive to become a better person. My kids also inspire me. The love they give is unconditional and innocent. Working for a purpose, to help others in need. For me, these are key to being motivated. It engages not only your mind but your heart.
My Story: Originally from the UK, Deepali earned her BSc in Business Information Technology, from University of Portsmouth, UK. She then furthered her studies in a Chartership in Marketing and Communications. She has a background in Marketing. It is Deepali’s passion to help communities and the environment led her to taking a Sabbatical. This involved working in South Africa for 1 year on various community and conservation projects. These projects included teaching English to kids in a Zulu school, and rehabilitating animals at a Kruger National Park clinic. Working as part of the Unity team is a fantastic avenue for her to teach to teach her kids the importance of giving back to to the community and sharing her passion with them. Currently she is an owner of The Learning Experience Bridgewater, helping educate young children and making an impact in their lives.

Ninfa Mehta
Member
Emergency Medicine Physician
Inspiration: Those less fortunate than me who take it all in stride and see the glass half full. Feeling the high of giving back. Teaching my kids about social responsibility. Showing them it's fun to do the right thing
My Story: Ninfa is an emergency room doctor in an underserved area of Brooklyn. She sees people during a very stressful time in their life. She noticed that small changes made a huge impact on people. The small act of time, even if just a few extra minutes made people feel more comfortable and at ease. If we can help people connect in that way the impact globally on a larger scale would make the world a better place to live. Ninfa has 4 kids who she hopes to teach the simple act of giving of their time is the single most important and valuable gift they have. Unity has allowed her to connect with others who want to impact the community on a larger scale in the same ways she does.

Consultant
Inspiration: The people around me inspire everyday. They challenge themselves to be better and to make the world a better place. I only hope that I can achieve a quarter of what those around me do.
Motivation: There is a quote that I love: "work hard in silence, let success be your noise". I think that the ability to empower others to reach their success, however they may define it, is amazing. The energy that you get from these activities is unlike any other.
Hero: My mom. I have seen how much she sacrificed for my siblings and I. Everyone says that they have the best mom, but I actually do!
